Tijdens halloweennacht is de Franse deejay Didier Sinclair overleden aan de gevolgen van longkanker. In september van dit jaar maakte het management al bekend dat Didier medische redenen geen optredens meer verzorgde. De deejay werkte nog wel aan zijn nieuwe album. Of dit album nog uitkomt is onduidelijk. Vorig jaar scoorde Didier Sinclair nog een hit met "Feel The Wave" dat kwam tot #15 in de nationale hitlijst van Frankrijk. Zijn meest recente plaat was "Do You Speak". Eerder bracht hij ook "Heavenly" (2005) en "Lovely Flight" (2001) uit. Naast zijn producties en deejaywerk was hij ook artistiek director bij het radiostation FG.

PARIS (AFP) – Didier Sinclair, a pioneering figure on France's techno music scene, has died at the age of 43, his agent announced.

Sinclair -- a DJ, musician and producer who was artistic director of FG Dj Radio -- died on Thursday after an unspecified illness.

He started out on France's youth-oriented NRJ radio in 1982, and went on to score his first recording success with the album "Groove2me" in 1999.

The following year, his "Lovely Flight" became an international hit, and Sinclair became a regular behind the turntables in big techno clubs.

In April, Sinclair brought out a new album titled "Do You Speak?", but his website announced he had suspended all appearances for health reasons and that he hoped to be back in spring of 2009.
